What to Read Interesting from the Classics
Well, I'm not in such subtletiesAs a person who was holding books of Russian classics in his hands, I won’t say more than yours that your business is bad. On the contrary, being already at a conscious age and having seen a lot in your life path, reading Russian classical thought will be a very fascinating activity for you. In addition, I do not advise starting to comprehend Russian classical writing with giants such as Dostoevsky and Tolstoy. Here a glimpse of the opinion that the knowledge of Russian literature should begin with reading "War and Peace" and "Brothers Karamazov"which I strongly disagree with. I will explain why. To begin with, it should be noted that, according to the memoirs of Leo Tolstoy himself, an epic novel "War and Peace" not his best work. In addition, if you start by reading Leo Tolstoy, then this unsurpassed classic has a huge number of works that deserve more attention, such as "Confession", "Sunday", "The death of Ivan Ilyich" and many others. Start reading with "Brothers Karamazov" – This step can discourage you from studying Russian classics, as reading this novel should be carried out if you have the proper level of training and knowledge in a person. If you begin to read Dostoevsky, then read his philosophical letters, among which there are no differences in volume. It is these philosophical letters that will provide the basis for your acceptance of the great Russian classic. In addition to the philosophical writings themselves, Dostoevsky has a number of outstanding works of art, such as "Moron", "Demons" and many others. Personally, I can advise you on behalf of the authors who are most strongly sunk into my soul – Chekhov, Griboedov, Turgenev. And in the end, I want to add that it is necessary to grow up to Russian classics and, for example, it still remains a mystery to me how people can overcome reading such giants as "Brothers Karamazov" and "War and Peace". Therefore, you should not fully lean on the study of Russian classics, because there are many interesting things in foreign literature.
