Most Popular Fantastic Books
The most popular books in the world6664So that my selection would not be too subjective, I took several book ratings of 2013, removed children’s literature from there – it does not correspond to the format of the article, removed popular action films and detective stories, about which there is nothing to write about (and it is not necessary). Also, I had to remove what I did not like and what I did not read. Thus, this review has two features: Based on real events. I recommend what I really liked. So far, no one has noticed a really bad taste in me. A certain subjectivity. Many good books probably didn’t fall into my field of vision and are missing from this review. 1. Sergey Lukyanenko Zastava Sergey Lukyanenko is by far the most popular Russian science fiction writer. And this situation is well deserved. Lukyanenko, who began with books for teenagers (“Knights of the Forty Islands”, “Boy and Darkness”), worked in a wide variety of fiction genres, and each created something memorable: cyberpunk (“Labyrinth of Reflections”), urban fantasy (“Dozors”) , space opera (“Stars are cold toys”, “Line of dreams”, “Genome”, “Lord from the planet Earth”), alternative history (“Seekers of the sky”), humorous fiction (“Island of Russia”).1bad892d4fca7822cabe8ce56e012f19It seems that the period when the author wrote on his best books about shortages, fidgets, safely passed, and from his pen again comes quality fiction, which is nice to read. In the last book, he turns to the topic of parallel worlds, which has already been encountered in “Draft” and “Chistovik.” 2. Max Fry. Tubur game. The story told by Numminorich KutaOn the books of Max Fry, I already wrote on the pages of this site. As you understand, I am a long-time devoted fan of the author’s work, so it’s difficult for me to treat him with an open mind. Although in general the Chronicles of Echo seemed weaker than the Echo Labyrinths series, they still really like them. I recommend. 3. Vadim Panov. In the circle of times, “City Fantasy” by Vadim Panov is one of the most interesting phenomena in modern Russian science fiction. I like the cycle “The Secret City” more than others, from which the author’s popularity began at one time. This book applies to him.
